The University of Birmingham is one of the most successful in British Student golf, and golf has been played at the university for over 50 years. Golf is one of seven focus sports at the university, with four teams competing in the British University’s Championships (BUCS) leagues and knockouts; the club regularly tops the BUCS golf points league table winning leagues and individual strokeplay tournaments. Alumni from the club have gone on to complete in elite amateur events and on both the European Tour and Ladies European Tour.
It’s rapidly moving towards the start of the BUCS Strokeplay Tour with entries to all tournaments opening 1st August. The Tour kicks off with the Stirling Invitational, this year at Fairmont, St. Andrews on the Torrence course.
